What is the Luffa sponge made of?

Luffa (loofah) is an annual plant found in Africa and Asia. It is a variety of pumpkin called sponge. When dried, its flesh becomes slightly rough and non-abrasive. It produces a sponge that has the ability to absorb water exceeding twenty times its weight.

How to use:

Before using the sponge for the first time, rinse and immerse it in water several times and squeeze it gently. Do not wring or wring. The sponge can be machine washed to prolong its life. It can be used for 1 to 3 months, depending on the frequency of use and how it is cleaned and stored

Application:

Body wash: wet the skin and loofah and apply soap to it. The more water the loofah absorbs, the softer it will be. Massage the body in circular motions and then rinse. Use Najel lotion or vegetable oil to moisturise the skin if it requires it. Rinse the sponge thoroughly after each use to remove any soap residue, then squeeze and leave to dry.

Massage: using a dry sponge, massage selected areas of the body in circular motions. Daily loofah massage increases skin firmness, improves blood circulation and prevents the appearance of cellulite

Cleaning: cut the loofah into smaller pieces. You can use it to wash dishes or clean various surfaces in the kitchen and around the house. Luffa does not leave scratches and does not rub off.
